To reset a user's password, follow the steps below:
1. Log in to Humand Admin > Users.
2. Identify the user and click on their advanced settings ⚙️.
3. Then, click on the 3 dots button (⋮) and select the Reset password option.
When resetting a user's password, there are two possible scenarios, depending on how the user in question was uploaded to the community:
1️⃣ If the user was created from an integration via API or bulk upload with Excel, regardless of whether it has an associated email or not, when we click on “Reset password” it will be reset to the default password, meaning the password set via integration or bulk upload. Therefore, after clicking on reset, a green banner will appear immediately. In these cases, after resetting the password, you must contact the user to remind them of their initial password. Then the user, when logging in again with their initial password, will need to set a private password.
2️⃣ On the other hand, if the user was uploaded manually, from the Create user button, when we click on “Reset password”, the platform allows us to select whether we want to reset it via email or by directly entering the new initial password we want for the user. Clarification: This is the least likely scenario to occur as usually all users are uploaded in bulk with an Excel.
When the administrator user clicks on the “Reset Password” button, an email will not be sent to the end user indicating that the password has been reset. This is because the “Reset Password” case is used whenever the end user does not have an associated email address. In case the end user does have an associated email, the password reset can be managed by the user with the “Forget my password” self-management tool.
