How do I bulk update users' initial passwords?

If you need to assign a new initial password to several users at once, you can do it with the Bulk user upload: download a template with the current data, fill in the password for the users you want to update, and upload it again overwriting their data.

To access the bulk upload:

  1. Go to admin.humand.co → Users.
  2. Click the three-dot menu ⋮, next to the New user button.
  3. Select Bulk user upload.

  • In the Download the template step:

    1. Check the box Download the template loaded with the data of existing users.
    2. Click Download template.
    3. Click Next.
Download the template step with the existing users box checked and the Download template button

The template includes all users in the community with their current data: ID, Last Name, Name, Email, Password, Phone, Hiring date and Birthdate.

For security reasons, the Password column is downloaded empty for all users.

  • Open the template and enter the new initial password in the Password column for each user you want to update. Each password must be at least 8 characters long.

When filling in the template, keep the following in mind:

If in a row you… Result
Fill in the Password The user gets that password.
Leave the Password empty The user keeps their current password.
Leave any other column empty That field is left empty in the user's profile.

Only modify the Password column and don't delete the data in the other columns: when overwriting, the upload replaces all of the user's data with the data in the template.

You can keep in the template only the rows of the users whose password you want to change. Users who are not in the template are not modified.

On the platform, click Next to go to the last step.

  • In the Upload the template step:

    1. Click Select file and choose the template you filled in.
    2. Check the box I want to overwrite existing users with the changes from the template. Without this option, the upload shows the error The user already exists and doesn't update the passwords.
    3. Click Complete.
Upload the template step with the file selected, the overwrite box checked and the Complete button

An upload that overwrites data cannot be undone. Review the template before clicking Complete.

  • The upload appears in the History section, below the steps, with the date, the file name and the Status:

    Status What it means
Pending The template is being processed. Refresh the page to see the updated status.
Completed The template was processed and the passwords were updated.
Error A row has data that couldn't be processed. Click Error to see the details, correct the template and upload it again.
