From Time off → Management → Balances you can manually correct a collaborator's balance in a policy. For example, to record days they took without making the request in Humand, fix an error, or add hours to an hour bank.
To see the Balances tab and make adjustments, you need the Manage vacations and permissions permission. If you need to adjust many balances at once, see How do I make a bulk balance adjustment?
The adjustment option you see depends on how the policy balance works:
| Policy | Option | What you adjust |
|---|---|---|
| With a limited balance (it has a quota of days or hours) | Adjust available time | The time the collaborator has available to request. If you add, they have more available; if you subtract, they have less. |
| With an unlimited balance (no cap) | Adjust time used | The time the collaborator has already used. It keeps the record of the time taken up to date. |

These are the fields of the adjustment form:
| Field | What to fill in |
|---|---|
| Adjustment type | Add or Subtract, and the amount in the policy's unit (days or hours). In hour-based policies you can use decimals, for example 0.25 for 15 minutes. |
| Cycle | Appears in policies that work with cycles. It lets you link the adjustment to a past cycle, for example to settle days from the previous year. |
| Observations | Optional. Write the reason for the adjustment (up to 250 characters) so there is a record. |
If the balance you want to adjust belongs to an hour bank, also see How do I adjust my employees' hour bank balance?
Manual adjustments keep your collaborators' balances up to date and prevent differences between the time they took and what Humand shows.
