How does content segmentation logic work in Humand?

At Humand, the segmentation logic is AND between categories and OR within the same category.

  • What does AND logic between categories mean? It means that all conditions must be met at the same time. If you select 3 categories, only people who belong to all 3 will receive the information.

  • What does OR logic mean within the same category? It means that at least one of the conditions must be met, regardless of whether all of them are met.

Let's see an example:

Let's assume you have the following segmentations:

  • Area
  • Hierarchy
  • Modality

And each segmentation has the following segmentation items:

  • Area: HR, Legal, Administration
  • Hierarchy: Director, Manager, Employees
  • Modality: Hybrid, Remote, In-person

You segment content as follows:

  • Area: HR
  • Hierarchy: Employees
  • Modality: On-site or Remote

This way, only users belonging to HR, Employees, and On-site or Remote will receive the content.

That is, they must comply with:

  1. Belong to HR (if you are in another department, you are excluded).
  2. Have the role of Employee (if you are a Director or Manager, you are excluded).
  3. Work on-site or remotely (if you are hybrid, you are excluded).

This means that the content will only be received by users who meet all three criteria at the same time, but within the Modality criterion, they can be either In-Person or Remote.

Users who will receive the content:

  • People who work in HR,
  • Who are employees,
  • Who work on-site or remotely.

🚫 Users who will NOT receive the content:

  • Anyone who is NOT in HR.
  • Anyone who is NOT an Employee (e.g., an HR Manager does not receive the content).
  • Anyone who has a Hybrid status (even if they are in HR and are an Employee).

This segmentation system allows you to customize content distribution precisely, ensuring that it only reaches those who really need to see it.
