What conditions must a PDF meet to work well in forms?

To ensure that fields don't shift within a PDF form uploaded to Humand, the file should meet the following conditions:

:arrows_counterclockwise: Rotation = 0

  •  Even if the PDF is horizontal, it should be because the page is wider than it is tall.
  • If the "horizontal" layout is due to applied rotation, the inputs will appear misaligned.

:triangular_ruler: Correct coordinates

  •  Each PDF has an "internal map" of positions to place text and elements.
  • If that map is flipped or defined differently (for example, with an inverted axis), the calculations we use to place the inputs won't match and will end up in incorrect locations.

:straight_ruler: All pages the same size

  •  The system always uses the first page as a reference.
  • If the following pages are a different size (e.g., the first is A4 and the others are not), the fields will shift.

In summary, PDFs with rotation 0, standard coordinates, and all pages the same size work correctly..
