The Competencies module lets you define, organize, and assign key skills and behaviors within your organization.
With this feature, users can have competencies linked to their profiles, while administrators can create, manage, and structure these competencies for the entire community.
-
A competency represents a skill, behavior, or standard that the organization wants to measure or develop.
Each competency includes:
- Name
- Description
Examples:
- Leadership
- Communication
- Active listening
- Collaboration
Competencies act as a centralized bank where all available competencies in the community are managed.
-
A Competency Profile is a set of competencies grouped under a structure defined by administrators.
Instead of assigning competencies one by one to each user, profiles are created and then assigned to different employees or groups.
Example:
A profile called “Sales Manager” might include:
- Leadership
- Communication
- Results-oriented
-
The recommended workflow for using the Competencies module is as follows:
- Create competencies in the competency bank.
- Create a competency profile.
- Associate competencies with the profile.
- Assign the profile to users or user segments.
This order allows for more organized, scalable management that aligns with your organization's structure.
-
- The same competency can be part of multiple profiles.
- Multiple users can be assigned the same competency profile.
- If a competency is edited, the change will affect all profiles where it is included.
Competencies help structure development and evaluation criteria in an organized way, while profiles make it easy to assign them in bulk or to specific segments within the community.
