How to Create and Manage Competencies

Competencies are managed from the Admin panel and serve as a centralized bank for the entire community.

Below, we'll go over how to create new competencies, edit them, or delete them as needed for your organization. Once created, they can be linked to different competency profiles.

  • To manage your community's competencies, make sure you have the "Manage competencies" permission.

    If you need help managing permissions, check out the following article:

    Once you have this permission, go to admin.humand.co and navigate to the Competencies section.

    There you'll find a list of all created competencies, which acts as a competency bank.

  • To create a competency:

    1. Go to Competencies.
    2. Click on Create competency.
      Manage competencies permission
    3. Fill in the Name and Description fields.
    4. Confirm to save it in the competency bank.

    Once created, you can reuse it in different competency profiles.

  • To edit an existing competency:

    1. Find the competency in the list.
    2. Click on the three dots (⋯).
    3. Manage competencies permission
    4. Select Edit and save your changes.

    If you edit or delete a competency, the change will affect all competency profiles where it's linked.

The competency bank helps keep your community organized and makes competencies reusable.

Setting up competencies correctly from the start makes it easier to build profiles and assign them to different team members later on.
