How to Hide File Downloads

From the Files module settings, you can restrict downloads so that collaborators can only view files within the platform.

  •  

    1. Go to the admin panel and select Apps.

    2. Click the gear icon on the Files module.

    3. Turn on the Hide file download toggle.

    4. Save your changes.

    This option is turned off by default. When enabled, the restriction applies to all files in the module, regardless of the folder.

  • Files will be shown in preview only mode, with no download button.
  • For files that can't be previewed, you'll see the message: This file type can't be previewed.
