The Vacation and Leave module includes adaptations to comply with Brazilian legislation (CLT): splitting vacation into up to 3 periods per cycle and converting part of the days into a cash payment (férias em dinheiro).
-
Both features are enabled from the Time Off policy settings.
- Go to admin.humand.co.
- Navigate to Vacation and Leave → Policies.
- Select the policy that applies to employees in Brazil.
- Turn on the configuration option for Brazil.
- Click Save.
Important: When you enable this setting, the generic rule for minimum and maximum days per request is disabled. Only the legal validations for Brazil will apply.
-
With the Brazil setting enabled, you can allow employees to split their vacation into up to 3 requests within the same vacation cycle, and the platform will automatically validate:
Rule Details Minimum per request No request can be for less than 5 days. Minimum long request At least one of the requests must be for 14 days or more. Maximum number of requests An employee can make up to 3 requests per vacation cycle. If an admin edits a request and the result doesn't comply with Brazil's rules, the edit is allowed but the platform will display a warning.
-
Employees in Brazil can convert up to 1/3 of their vacation days into a cash payment, according to Art. 143 of the CLT. This is managed within the same request.
- Within the policy, enable the Sell Vacation Days option.
- When requesting vacation, the employee will see the Request days in cash toggle in the form.
- When enabled, the platform will show the available balance for sale: the lesser of 1/3 of the policy entitlement or the remaining calculated balance.
- The employee chooses how many days to sell (from 1 up to the calculated maximum).
- The sold days will be shown in the request summary and in the approval workflow.
The Request days in cash toggle only appears in policies where this option is enabled.
Both features can be combined within the same vacation request. They only apply to employees whose policy has the Brazil setting enabled.
