How do I add recurrence to a shift?

When assigning a shift in the schedule, you can set it to repeat automatically in a defined pattern, so you don't have to assign it manually each period.

  • You set up recurrence when assigning a shift to a team member in the schedule. In the assignment panel, you'll find the option to enable it.

You can choose between two frequency types:

    Type Description
Standard Predefined options like "Every day" or "Every week".
Custom Set the exact frequency: daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

  • When you choose a custom frequency, the options vary depending on the type:

Weekly: pick the specific days of the week (Monday to Sunday) when the shift repeats.

Monthly: choose a fixed day of the month (for example, the 15th) or a specific weekday position (for example, the second Tuesday of each month).

The panel shows a real-time description of the pattern you've set up so you can confirm it's correct before saving.

  • You can set when the recurrence ends with three options:

    Never: the recurrence continues indefinitely.

After X times: repeats a set number of times and then stops.

On a specific date: the recurrence ends on the date you choose.

You can also choose whether the recurring shift is assigned on holidays or skipped on those days.

  • Recurring shifts show a repeat icon in the schedule. When you hover over it, a tooltip displays the configured recurrence pattern.

From the options menu for the recurring shift, you can:

Remove from schedule: deletes only the current occurrence without affecting future ones.

Copy shift: copies that specific occurrence.

Remove recurrence from shift: stops the recurrence from that occurrence onward; previous ones remain.

Setting up recurrence for shifts reduces the manual work of assigning them and keeps your schedule automatically up to date.
