How can we help?

How do I restrict who can attach files to posts?

With the Attach files to posts permission you define who can upload files (such as PDFs or documents) in Feed and Groups posts. This way you control which documents circulate in the community without limiting the rest of the posts.

    1. Go to admin.humand.co → Settings → Roles and Permissions.
    2. Click the role you want to configure. To change the permission for the whole community, choose All users.

    1. Go to the Permissions tab and click Select general permissions.

    1. Select the Feed module.
    2. Check or uncheck Attach files to posts, depending on whether you want to enable or restrict file uploads for that role.
    3. Click Apply and then Save changes.

Permissions are additive: if a person has more than one role, the broadest access applies. For only some people to be able to attach files, uncheck the permission in All users and check it in a role assigned to those people.

  • People with the permission see the icon to attach a file when creating a post in the Feed or in a group:

People without it can still post, but without the option to attach files:

The permission doesn't affect photos, videos, GIFs or polls: those options remain available even if the permission is disabled.

Restricting file uploads helps you keep the Feed and groups organized, so only the right people share documents with the community.
