How do I assign competencies to a performance evaluation?

Competencies can be included in a performance review to measure specific skills and behaviors of employees.

Below, we'll look at how to add competencies to a review cycle and some important things to keep in mind.

  • Before assigning competencies to a review, make sure that:

    • The competencies have been created in the competency bank.
    • Competency profiles are set up.
    • The profiles are assigned to the users who will participate in the review.
  • To set up competencies within a review:

    1. Go to admin.humand.co and access the Performance module.
    2. Go to the Templates section.

    3. Create a new template or edit an existing one.
    4. In the template settings, find the Competencies section, turn it on, and set how they will be rated.

    5. Save the template or any changes made.
    6. When creating a review cycle, make sure to select the template set up with competency evaluation so that, when the cycle starts, employees are evaluated based on the competencies linked to their profile.
  • The competencies included in the review are automatically pulled from the Competency Profile assigned to each user.

    This means:

    • Each employee will be evaluated based on the competencies defined in their profile.
    • If different users have different profiles, they can have different competencies within the same review.
  • If competencies are added or removed from a profile while the review is active:

    • The changes will affect the competencies visible in the review, as long as the review has not been completed.
      If the review has already been completed by the employee, they will not see any changes made after submitting the review.
    • It's recommended to carefully review all settings before starting the review process.

The competencies evaluated in a performance cycle depend on the template set up and the competency profile assigned to each employee.

Carefully reviewing the template before starting the cycle ensures that each user is evaluated according to the skills and behaviors defined for their role.
